GMAT Overview
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized test conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) for students who wish to pursue management programs such as MBA or other business-related graduate degrees, particularly in countries like the United States, Canada, and globally. The exam evaluates analytical, writing, quantitative, and verbal skills through sections such as Quantitative Reasoning (focused on problem-solving and data analysis), Verbal Reasoning (testing reading comprehension and critical reasoning), and Data Insights (a newer section that assesses interpretation of data from multiple sources). The GMAT lasts around 2 to 2.5 hours in its current format, and scores typically range from 205 to 805. It is widely accepted by business schools worldwide and is an important requirement for admission into MBA and management programs, as well as for certain scholarships, helping institutions assess a candidate’s readiness for rigorous business education.
